A fantasy antagonist can carry an inherited title or a family name tied to a court. A sci-fi villain might use a callsign or corporate identity. In a contemporary thriller, an ordinary full name can make a public figure's hidden cruelty more convincing than a conspicuously evil alias.
A villain's real name belongs to the person; a title belongs to the story people tell about them. Generate a full name for intimate scenes or choose With a title for a feared public identity. Consider who gave them that title and whether they secretly dislike it.
After choosing a name, create a backstory to explore what the villain lost, wanted or refused to accept. Create a personality to decide how they behave when someone challenges them. A concrete goal and a costly contradiction give your antagonist more to do than simply sound menacing.
